Peegue's Puzzle Page

Peegue has two puzzles for you this issue.

Puzzle #1: Chomper Pyramids
First, an easy warm-up. Fill in the circles of the pyramid with red, yellow, and blue(?) chompers so that no to chompers of the same colour are in adjacent circles.

Puzzle #2: Z-Bot Pyramids
Now something harder. I'm sure you know of sliding puzzles. The picture shows a pyramid of six Z-Bots, constructed so that each row has one extra Z-Bot. By moving just two Z-Bots, you can make the pyramid point the other way, as shown.

Now consider a pyramid made out of 120 Z-Bots.

Question A: How many rows will this pyramid have?

Question B: What is the minimum number of moves required to make this pyramid point the other way?

These puzzle might take some time to work out, so don't give up too easily. Make time on a Sunday morning, grab a cup of tea or coffee, put your thinking cap on, and let the map percolate in your mind.

If you think you are completely stuck, visit the Wonderland Discussion Board to discuss possible answers with fellow Wonderlanders.

Peegue is also always interested in hearing about new puzzles from all around the world. If you've come across an interesting puzzle that you think Peegue would like to know about, just e-mail us.

Have a safe and happy holiday, and a wonderful 2012!
